A woman has been arrested after one person was killed and another was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Lower Hutt.
Emergency services were called to Cambridge Terrace in the suburb of Naenae about 11pm on Thursday.
A woman died at the scene while another person suffered minor injuries, police said.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested, a police spokesperson confirmed.
Police said they were in the early stages of their investigation and working to establish what happened.
