Police are at the scene of a house fire in Paraparaumu being treated as unexplained.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Makarini Street by multiple 111 calls at about 8pm on Wednesday .
Fire crews from Paekakariki, Waikanae, Porirua, Remutaka and Wellington were called in.
They left the scene at 12:11am and a police scene guard was at the property overnight.
Police said the occupants were out of the home and safe.
Officers would return to the home today alongside Fire and Emergency investigators.
Wellington Free Ambulance also attended, FENZ said.
