A 'touch to exit' security switch is being recalled as it is "vulnerable to compromise" in some circumstances.
The Trojan Developments Prox Rex was sold over a four-year period.
Product Safety say the fault "could allow an unauthorised person access to a secure area without a user first touching their hand to the device".
One company selling the product advertised it as "a resistive operated unit and has no part that could fail".
The recall affects products with 'Prox Rex' printed on the front in the bottom left corner and 'Prox Rex V9.8' printed on the back near the bottom.
The product was sold from July 2021 to October 2025 from:
- AHS Security Hardware
- Alliance Wholesale
- C.R. Kennedy
- Dicker Data
- Loktronic
- National Fire & Security
- Redlite Security Electronics
- Security Wholesale
- Surveillance Technologies
- Trade Security Supplies
- Wesco Anixter (previously Atlas Gentech)
Product safety says people should contact their security / access control system installer for further guidance.
