The Baltimore Orioles baseball side have signed twice All-Star Brian Roberts to a four-year contract extension through the 2013 season.
The 31-year-old second baseman hit .296 in 155 games for the Orioles in 2008, posting a career-high 181 hits and setting a team single-season record with 51 doubles.
Roberts's total of 51 doubles was also a record for a switch-hitter in the American League, surpassing the previous best of 50 he set in 2004.
He has a career average of .284 with 262 doubles and 226 stolen bases.
The Baltimore Sun reports the deal is worth almost $79 million.
