The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic have moved to a share of first place in the trans-Tasman netball competition with a 59-36 win over the Central Pulse in Hamilton.
The Magic were held to 11-11 in the first quarter but then blitzed the Pulse 20-7 in the second quarter.
The Magic captain Joeline Henry says the close first 15 minutes was good for her side as they needed to learn to battle hard and not just expect to play expansive netball.
The Magic are now equal on points with the Melbourne Vixens, who have the bye this week. The Vixens have won all five of their games while the Magic have one loss from six games.
