The Hurricanes fullback, Andre Taylor, is in line to make his first Super Rugby appearance of the season after being named on the bench in the side to play the Highlanders on Friday night.
Taylor has been out of favour with the coach, Mark Hammett, so far this season, but gets his chance after an injury to James Marshall, bringing Marty Banks off the bench and into the starting line-up.
An injury to Blade Thomson has forced a reshuffle of the loose forwards, with Jack Lam returning to the starting fifteen to line-up at blindside flanker alongside Ardie Savea, while Faifili Levave moves back to number eight.
Cory Jane's recovered from the broken nose that ruled him out of the Cheetahs win, but suffered an ankle injury at training yesterday ruling him out of Friday's match.
Hawke's Bay's Ash Dixon is also set to suit up for the first time this season, replacing Motu Matu'u on the bench.
