The Breakers have survived a scare to beat the bottom-placed Wollongong Hawks 98-91 in overtime in their National Basketball League encounter in Auckland.
It was an off-night for the league-leading Breakers, who trailed for the whole game until the last minute of regulation time, before Wollongong'a Rhys Martin hit a three to send the game into overtime.
The swingman, Tom Abercrombie, scored five of his sixteen points in the extra period to help the Breakers close out the win, while Cedric Jackson led the team with 18 points to go with four assists and five rebounds.
The Breakers' record sits at 15 wins and five losses, heading into a return fixture at Wollongong on Sunday.
