Elsewhere, Belgium has moved above Argentina into second, a record high for the European country.
The 2014 World Cup winners Germany held onto their number one spot with a pair of South Americans rounding out the top five - Colombia and Brazil.
France moved into the top 10 at the expense of Switzerland while England dropped a place to 15th as Costa Rica rose.
Australia is ranked 63rd after a rise of one spot. The Socceroos are only the fourth-highest ranked Asian Football Confederation team, despite winning the Asian Cup in January.
