Top sports doctor Dr John Mayhew is in an induced coma in North Shore Hospital following a cardiac arrest last night.
A family spokesperson said Mayhew was in the intensive care unit at the hospital, but was in a stable condition.
The 61-year-old was the All Blacks' team doctor for 13 years and the Warriors' doctor for the past 10.
He was a close friend and family spokesperson for the late Jonah Lomu, who died in November last year from ongoing kidney problems.
Mayhew was invested as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to sports medicine just last week.
