The former All Black Leon MacDonald has officially announced his retirement from rugby, almost a year after suffering another serious concussion while playing for Japanese club Kintetsu.
MacDonald, who's been appointed assistant coach of Tasman, has told the Marlborough Express newspaper that he won't be playing this season.
He played 56 Tests for the All Blacks after making his debut 2000, his last against South Africa in 2008.
