New Zealand tennis number one Dan King-Turner has been beaten in the quarter-finals of the US$100,000 ATP Challenger tournament in Johannesburg, South Africa.
King-Turner was defeated by big-serving South African Izak Van der Merwe 6-4 6-1.
Making the quarters will see King-Turner gain 20 ATP ranking points and nearly US$3,000 in prizemoney.
He will now play qualifying at the strong US$100,000 Challenger event tournament in Athens this weekend.
