The former Australian football international Dylan Macallister has signed a one year deal with the Wellington Phoenix for the upcoming A-League season.
The tall striker will add size and strength to the Phoenix frontline, when he teams with the English pairing of Paul Iffil and Chris Greenacre.
Macallister, who played one match for the Socceroos, has played for the Central Coast Mariners over the past two seasons but has only scored five goals in 35 games.
The Phoenix CEO Tony Pignata says while Macalister didn't have a strong season last year, he's confident Macalister can turn things around and be an ideal target man for the side.
The addition of Macallister takes the Phoenix's current squad to 17.
