The Warriors extended their winning streak to five games and inflicted further pain on the troubled Melbourne Storm with a hard-fought 13-6 National Rugby League win at Mt Smart Stadium.
It was a case of deja vu for the Warriors who had to face the Storm after a week of salary cap dramas, just as they did when hammered 40-6 in April when the scandal broke.
Ivan Cleary's enthusiastic side was up for the task this time, dictating the tempo of the game and defending strongly again in front a decent crowd of 13,118 considering the All Blacks played simultaneously in Wellington.
Cleary says they're putting the whole package together at the moment so hopefully that can continue.
Manu Vatuvei and Jerome Ropati scored tries for the Warriors who led 12-0 at the break.
The Warriors, who are now top four contenders, will take on the South Sydney at ANZ Stadium next Sunday.
