The 40 year old New Zealand sailor Barbara Kendall starts her fifth Olympics today as the boardsailing commences in Qingdao.
Kendall has won a gold, silver and bronze medal in that time and finished 5th in Athens four years ago.
Many of her competitors are half her age and the New Zealand sailing manager Russell Green says the conditions in Qingdao this week are likely to make it particularly taxing on the body and that is where Kendall may find it tough going and some very fit young women....
