The Black Caps have revived their Twenty20 World Cup campaign with an eight-wicket win over India in Dubai.
New Zealand won the toss and sent India into bat and restricted the tournament favourites to 110-7 in 20 overs in the Super 12 match.
The Black Caps reached the winning total with 33 balls to spare.
India rejigged their top order, bringing in Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur, and it did not pay off as they fell to their second loss of the tournament.
Trent Boult started the carnage, eventually finishing with figures of 3-20 as Indian batters picked out the fielders on the boundary with regularity.
Ish Sodhi had a player of the match performance on his birthday, claiming 2-17 and picking up the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Black Caps disciplined bowling display.
At 48 for four, India were in all sorts of trouble and while Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya consolidated, they did so at the expense of the scoring rate as India went 71 balls without a boundary.
In reply, Martin Guptill began positively in making 20 before he fell to Jasprit Bumrah, the pick of the Indian bowlers.
Daryl Mitchell made a fluent 49 and skipper Kane Williamson remained not out on 33 as New Zealand triumphed to spare to bounce back from the defeat by Pakistan in their tournament opener.
With this win, New Zealand helped their net run-rate as they look to put pressure on Afghanistan in the race for a semi-final spot, with the pair set to meet in each team's final game of the Super 12.
