Jarrell Brantley arrives in Auckland next month fresh from playing five games for the LA Clippers in the NBA Summer League.

Head Coach Mody Maor says the 26-year-old was his number one target to replace Finn Delany when he knew the kiwi wanted to go overseas.

"Jarrell Brantley is exactly the player I was looking for, and our discussions with him started a very long time ago. I am thrilled we've been able to bring him to the Breakers for the new season," Maor said.

"His role in Summer League and his role with the Breakers will be completely different, and I am looking forward to unlocking all his potential."

Brantley was the 50th pick in the 2019 NBA draft and spent two seasons for the Utah Jazz, whom he appeared for 41 times - including four playoff games.

Brantley joins a Breakers' roster with a strong kiwi core, including Tom Abercrombie, Rob Loe, Sam Timmins, Izayah Le'afa, Tom Vodanovich and Dan Fotu, while Will McDowell-White provides further consistency by returning for a third season.

Australian Cam Gliddon, Frenchman Rayan Rupert and import Dererk Pardon round out the squad with one further import to be added in the coming weeks.

Warriors make changes

Warriors interim head coach Stacey Jones has made four backline changes plus two on the interchange bench for the club's second Homecoming Series clash against Melbourne at Mount Smart Stadium on Friday night.

Jones has lost centre Jesse Arthars (thigh strain) and is again without interchange prop Aaron Pene, who was ruled out late with a virus last week.

Also unavailable is second rower Jack Murchie, who has remained Australia to be with his expectant partner.

With Rocco Berry (foot injury) another out of contention, Jones has moved left wing Marcelo Montoya into the centres with Edward Kosi back on the wing for his second outing in three games.

The other backline changes are at fullback and standoff with Chanel Harris-Tavita moving from fullback into the halves replacing Daejarn Asi and Reece Walsh will wear the number one jersey.

Eliesa Katoa and Jackson Frei move onto the bench.

The Storm, who have lost their last four games, are fifth on the table, while the Warriors are 13th.

The hosts were 176-5 when bad light stopped play on day three in Galle with Karunaratne on 27 and Dhananjaya de Silva on 30.

Having conceded a lead of 147, Pakistan claimed four wickets in the second session but the 59-run stand between Karunaratne and de Silva put Sri Lanka in a strong position.

Earlier, Ramesh Mendis claimed 5-47, his third five-wicket haul in tests, as Sri Lanka bowled out Pakistan for 231 to secure a significant lead.

Pakistan pulled off a thrilling 342-run chase in the opening match to grab a 1-0 lead in the two-test series.

Dane takes stage three of Tour

Denmark's Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig finished strongly to win the third stage of the Tour de France Femmes, while Dutch great Marianne Vos came second to retain the yellow jersey.

Vos had seized the yellow jersey after winning yesterday's second stage but FDJ Suez Futuroscope rider Ludwig kept her at bay to win the hilly 133.6 kilometre ride from Reims to Epernay in a time of three hours and 22.54 minutes.

Victory was especially sweet for the FDJ Suez Futuroscope after Marta Cavalli, one of the favourites, abandoned the race yesterday after being involved in a high-speed pile-up towards the end of stage two.

South Africa's Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (SD Worx) was third behind Vos, who stayed top of the general classification with a total time of 8:30.36.

Pre-race favourite Annemiek van Vleuten finished the stage in 10th and later said that she was struggling with her health, with difficulty to eat and drink.

New Zealand's Ally Wollaston didn't start today's stage after injurying her wrist in a crash yesterday.... she is now in doubt for the Commonwealth Games.

Stage four on Wednesday is yet another hilly ride, with competitors travelling 126.8km from Troyes to Bar-sur-Aube.

The hosts were selected following a bidding process that was overseen by a sub-committee.

The ICC Board accepted the recommendations of the committee who conducted a thorough review of each bid.

Australia won this year's 50-over World Cup, beating England by 71 runs in the final in April.

Alison Brittain to chair EPL

The Premier League will be chaired by a woman for the first time when Alison Brittain takes over the role next year, after the clubs unanimously voted in favour of her appointment.

Brittain, the outgoing chief executive of hospitality giant Whitbread, was recently named as the new chair of home furnishings retailer Dunelm.

She will leave her role at Whitbread in early 2023 and succeed interim Premier League chair Peter McCormick, who stepped in after Gary Hoffman resigned in the wake of an outcry from other clubs over Newcastle United's takeover by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium.

Brittain previously held a number of senior roles in the British banking industry, serving as group director in the retail division of Lloyds Banking Group and as board director at Santander UK.

The 57-year-old, who also spent nearly two decades at Barclays, has been on the advisory boards of the last three British Prime Ministers. She is currently the senior independent director at data credit firm Experian.

CGF and WADA sign agreement

The World Anti-Doping Agency has signed an initial four-year agreement with the Commonwealth Games Federation to collaborate on anti-doping.

WADA said the deal, which was signed at the CGF General Assembly in Birmingham ahead of the Commonwealth Games, was to facilitate joint activities within member nations and to strengthen its anti-doping programme.

CGF President Louise Martin said her organisation had "zero tolerance" when it comes to doping in sport.

"The agreement is further affirmation of our commitment to clean sport, which is critical to achieving integrity and fairness in sport," Martin said.
