A century from opener Finn Allen has propelled the Black Caps to 68 run win over Scotland in the first T20 International in Edinburgh.
After being asked to bat first Allen and Martin Guptill put on 85 for the opening wicket.
Allen's knock of 101 came off 56 balls and included eight fours and six sixes.
Guptill made 40, while Glenn Phillips with 23, Daryl Mitchell with 23 and Jimmy Neesham with 30 got the tourists through to 225 for five in their 20 overs.
Guptill's innings made him the highest run-scorer in T20I's, both men and women.
He went past Rohit Sharma of India having now scored 3399 runs.
The Scots also started their innings strongly with George Munsey and Calum MacLeod putting on 62 for the opening wicket.
However the Black Caps spinners then took control of the game with Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi reducing the homeside to 88 for five.
Scotland finished on 157 for eight.
Sodhi took four for 28 and Santner two for 23.
Game two of the two match series is in Edinburgh on Saturday morning.
