Gurrey equals women's domestic batting record

A ballistic century has made Caitlin Gurrey the new owner of Northern Districts' highest one-day score, in their biggest women's one-day total, on the way to their biggest win.

In the process she tied the record for the highest domestic women's one-day score in New Zealand, blasting a rapid-fire 183 against Central Districts at Bay Oval on Saturday.

Susie Bates will now having shared the record, having scored an unbeaten 183 for Otago in the 2005/06 season.

Gurrey quickly took control en route to her fourth and career-best List A one-day century after Northern were sent in by the visitors.

Twenty boundaries and seven sixes later, the aggressive opener was still standing in the 44th over with the Hinds already facing a monumental chase.

Gurrey's ton flew off 113 balls as she put the foot down and busted the previous ND fifth-wicket partnership record to boot, with support from youngster Tash Wakelin's 33.

That partnership record had been held by former ND captain Natalie Dodd who now led the opposing side, in her 150th List A appearance.

ND powered through their 50 overs to reach a mammoth 318-7 and were never threatened in notching a 123-run win.
