All Blacks and Hurricane midfielder Jordie Barrett faces several weeks on the sidelines after being sent off in the Hurricanes golden point win over the Queensland Reds in Melbourne at the weekend.
Barrett has been cited for a high tackle on Reds' player Jordie Petaia during the Hurricanes' 38-33 victory.
He will go before the SANZAR judiciary on Tuesday unless he takes an early guilty plea and accepts the penalty offered by the foul player review committee.
Barrett could face a suspension of four weeks even if he opts for an early guily plea.
Last week Western Force prop Marley Pearce was bannned for four weeks after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle against the Hurricanes, ironically on Barrett, in the season opener.
