New Zealand's Scott McLaughlin has finished third at the latest IndyCars race in Wisconsin behind his two teammates.

Australian Will Power won the race with American Josef Newgarden second in a Team Penske 1-2-3.

McLaughlin started from eighth on the grid at Road America and steadily climbed his way up the pack and was in first place at times during the race, which had multiple lead changes.

Fellow New Zealander Scott Dixon, who was the overall series leader heading into the event, finished 21st after suffering a flat tyre during the race which forced him to pit.

McLaughlin is up to fifth overall.

New Zealand's Marcus Armstrong started third on the grid but was involved in a collision with his pole-sitting teammate Linus Lundqvist on the first lap of the race.

Armstrong hit Lundqvist from behind causing him to spin with Armstrong damaging his car, forcing him out of the race.
