New Zealand's Liam Lawson looks unlikely to get a Formula One drive this season after the Red Bull Racing chose against making any personnel changes.

Speculation had risen that Red Bull management had used the championship's mid-season break to consider the status of their top team's driver Sergio Perez and also the merits of their veteran second-tier driver Daniel Ricciardo.

Multiple motor racing media reports say Ricciardo will remain behind the wheel with Visa Cash App RB through the remainder of 2024, while Perez will stay on at Red Bull Racing.

The company's top brass, including team principal Christian Horner and motorsport advisor Helmet Marko, reportedly met this week the factory in Milton Keynes, England, to discuss the future for both F1 pilots.

The demotion of either driver could have resulted in a promotion for Lawson, who is a Red Bull reserve driver.

Lawson, 22, was given five F1 stars last year when Australian Ricciardo was ruled out for two months with an injury.

Ricciardo, 35, ranks 13th in this year's F1 driver's standings through 14 races, including three top-10 finishes.

Perez, 34, ranks seventh through 14 starts, including 11 finishes in the top 10 and six in the top five.
