Support continues to grow for a petition that wants to change the name of New Zealand to Aotearoa and use te reo Māori names for towns, cities and places by 2026.

The petition was launched by the Māori Party on Tuesday.
It has garnered over 51,000 signatures and the number continues to grow.
Co-leader Rawiri Waititi says the party believe this is one of the quickest uptakes of any petition Aotearoa has seen in a long time.
"Polling from last year told us that 80 percent of people see te reo Māori as something to be proud of and part of their identity as New Zealanders," he said.
"The support of our petition just reaffirms that for us. We are grateful and will continue to push to have our collective voices heard."
So far there is no closing date for the petition.
