Concern over copycats

7:41 am on 5 November 2013

The School Trustees Association is concerned a group of young men from Auckland who have shared details online about group sex sessions with drunk teenage girls might spark copycat activity.

Police have been investigating the group of 17- and 18-year-olds who called themselves "Roast Busters" for two years but say they can not lay charges as they do not have enough evidence.

School Trustees Association president Lorraine Kerr says the issue is a huge concern for schools and parents and she is worried other teenagers might try to copy the group. Ms Kerr says schools do everything they can to ensure the safety of all students but there is little they can do about activities outside school hours.
