Dotcom saga continues

8:19 am on 28 November 2013

Crown lawyers are seeking to overturn a ruling the police used unlawful search warrants to raid the internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom's Auckland mansion.

Chief High Court judge Justice Winkelmann ruled in June last year the warrants used during the January 2012 raid were too broad and did not describe the offences properly.

Crown lawyers will challenge Justice Winkelmman's ruling at a hearing at the Court of Appeal in Wellington today.

If the appeal is successful, it could affect Dotcom's claim for compensation against the Government over the raid, and what evidence can be presented at his extradition hearing next year.
