Rose Matafeo: Following a sold out run of shows at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival recently, Rose Matafeo has brought back her Finally Dead standup show to The Basement. It’s still on for the following three nights with tickets available for $25, or concessions for $20. And ICYMI, check out Rose’s interview with Charlotte Graham where she talks about what it took to pull the show together before its debut.

Raiza Biza: After finishing up a 14-date tour with Six60 recently, local rapper Raiza Biza hits up Auckland venue Neck Of The Woods this Saturday for one last show before he buries himself in the studio for the next couple of months. It’s sure to be one not to miss with support coming from Crime Heat Beats, Tom Scott, Spell, Reminise, Hudge and Richie Mills. Tickets are available on the door for $10 before midnight and $15 from then on.

NZIFF: While the full programme isn’t out for a couple of weeks, the NZ International Film Festival have announced a selection of music films that will be playing. Among them, Mavis!, a documentary that takes a look at the life of the soul music legend; Lambert & Stamp, which focuses on the managers behind The Who; From Scotland With Love, “a vibrant, kaleidoscopic elegy for 20th century Scotland”; and of course, Amy, story that takes a look at the life of Amy Winehouse. Get familiar with all the trailers over at the NZIFF site, and start with the one for Amy, below.

Bands For Blankets: This Saturday sees Bands For Blankets take place at K’ Road bar The Thirsty Dog, a benefit show featuring nine bands including Labretta Suede and The Motel 6, Smokin’ Daggers, The Cavemen and more. It’s an early start, with things kicking off from 5pm, and entry is with a blanket or winter coat to donate to the Auckland City Mission. More info here.

HDSPNS: Auckland four-piece post-punk act HDSPNS have announced that they are heading out on an eight-date tour of the country beginning tomorrow night in Auckland. The shows come in support of the band’s debut album /ˈen(d)ˌɡām/, a follow-up to their 2013 EP Vividism that was recorded with the help of local electronica musician Suren Unka. Tomorrow’s show is taking place at Golden Dawn and you can check out ‘Archipelago’, their latest release from the upcoming album, below.

R.A. The Rugged Man: In the country as part of his ‘Shoot Me In The Head’ tour, New York rapper R.A. The Rugged Man follows up last night’s show in Wellington with another at Auckland’s Neck Of The Woods this evening. Tickets for the show are $30 and available via Non Stop Tix. Until then, here’s his video for ‘Media Midgets’, lifted from his second, and most recent, album Legends Never Die.

NBA finals: We’re three games into the NBA finals, with the Cleveland Cavaliers holding an advantage over the Golden State Warriors. So, will Steph Curry finally have his redemption game? Can Lebron keep these sort of stats up?? And WTF has possessed Matthew Dellavedova??? With the odds initially on the Warriors to dominate the series, you’re probably as confused as I am. Game four takes place from 1pm tomorrow.
