Miss June: Coinciding with the release of their new video for ‘Student Loan’, Auckland punk act Miss June have lined up some shows, beginning at the Darkroom in Christchurch this Friday. LIPS and Anna Coddington: Tonight sees the first of 10 shows from Anna Coddington and New York-based LIPS, who are teaming up to take the stage together as a three-piece act. They’ll be playing on each other’s songs and performing a couple of “hot covers” as well. Things kick off at Wellington’s Meow, before shows in Nelson and Takaka over the weekend. Ha The Unclear: Auckland-based Dunedin band Ha The Unclear are heading out on a nationwide tour next week, but ahead of that they play this Friday at Portland Public House. They’ll be supported by Rewind Fields and a solo set from Dictaphone Blues’ Eddie Castelow. Here’s the video for ‘Growing Mould’, directed by Mardo El-Noor.
Imagine Dragons: Las Vegas pop-rock act Imagine Dragons play their second and last New Zealand show at Christchurch’s Horncastle Arena tonight. Last here in 2013, the band are touring in support of their new album Smoke + Mirrors. Hit up Ticketek for more.
Seth Sentry: Off the back of his new album Strange New Past, Melbourne rapper Seth Sentry is in the country for two shows this weekend. He plays San Fran in Wellington on Friday and Whammy Bar in Auckland the following evening, with tickets for both available through his official site. Take a listen to ‘Hell Boy’, below.
Anika Moa and SJD: Anika Moa is taking her new album Queen At The Table on the road this month. The 15-date trip kicked off in Whangarei last weekend and continues this evening in Queenstown, with shows in Timaru, Dunedin and Oamaru over the following days. She’ll be joined at all shows by SJD, who also released his new album earlier this year, and tickets for all shows are available through Eventfinder.
Eb & Sparrow: Wellington indie-folk act Eb & Sparrow have just begun a massive 17-date tour of the country that will see them through until the end of next month. The band, who have also just released their new record Sun/Son, arrive in Hastings for a show on Saturday before heading to Featherston on Sunday night. Head over to Under The Radar to grab tickets.
