Courtney Barnett: Following an appearance at Laneway Festival earlier in the year, Australian indie-pop musician Courtney Barnett is back in the country for three shows this week. The brief jaunt sees her play in Wellington this evening ahead of shows at Auckland’s St James Theatre and Christchurch’s Foundry over the following two nights. Can’t make it out this time? She’s also just been announced as part of the line-up for the inaugural Echo Festival this January.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre: US psych-rock band The Brian Jonestown Massacre are in New Zealand for a series of shows over the next few days. Things get under way on Friday in Christchurch before they hit the road for shows in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland. Tickets are available from over at Under The Radar.
From The Streets To The Stage: Auckland Action Against Poverty are holding a fundraising gig this Friday. Street Chant, LarzRanda, Tourettes, Rackets, Cool Runnings and SoccerPractise will all perform as part of the line-up, and tickets are $15 waged or $10 unwaged from Under The Radar. All proceeds go straight to the organisation, which “fights for the rights of beneficiaries, the unemployed and low wage workers”.
The Conjurors: Auckland band The Conjurors are playing this Saturday to celebrate the release of their new 12” EP Hints. It’s going down at Whammy Bar, and support on the night comes from The Raw Nerves, Big Tipper and DJ Maxwell Giles. Tickets are $10 on the door.
Lisa Crawley: Now based in Melbourne, local singer/songwriter Lisa Crawley has just released a new EP and is back home for an eight-date tour around the country. Things kick off down South, with shows lined up in Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown over the weekend. Find everything you need to know, including ticket details, right here.
Hozier: Irish singer/songwriter Hozier is playing his first ever New Zealand show this evening. Best known for his single ‘Take Me To Church’, he’ll be performing at Auckland’s Vector Arena in a one-off show with UK singer Rhodes. Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.
Hollie Smith: Heading out in support of her new single ‘Lady Dee’, Hollie Smith begins a four-date jaunt of the country this Friday. There’ll be no shows in the main centres this time around, instead, Smith will play in Raglan, Whakatane, Napier and Masterton. Tickets are available from Eventfinder.
