Kick Out The Jams: Tunes Of I

8:50 am on 15 April 2016

Interviews and live sets from the New Zealand music underground. This week, we head out to see Wellington dub act Tunes Of I.

Dub/Roots band Tunes of I have settled back into their Wellington lifestyles after an extended summer tour promoting their debut album Restless. The tour included high-flying festival dates such as Rhythm & Vines and Soundsplash, as well as smaller shows dotted around the country over a two-month period.

The seven-piece draw influence from established Wellington dub heavyweights such as The Black Seeds and Fat Freddy's Drop, but add their own eclectic flavour and feel to the popular sound thanks to their various musical backgrounds and impressive musicianship.

We caught their set on the Glover Park Stage at Cuba Dupa, then caught up with a few of them afterwards to recap the summer's events.

Filmed and edited by Ezra Simons and Gussie Larkin.
