The Afghan president says Islama-phobia is threatening peace and coexistence between cultures.
In his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the American-made anti-Islamic video The Innocence of Muslims, which has sparked world-wide protests.
He condemned "the depravity of fanatics" who made the Innocence of Muslims film, which set off the storm.
"The menace of Islama-phobia is a worrying phenomenon that threatens peace and co-existence."
Mr Karzai said the video insulted the faith of more than one-point-five billion Muslims.
