A man accused of directing a laser pointer at a police helicopter as it flew over southwest Sydney will appear in court next month.
Police said the helicopter was on patrol when a laser pointer was shone at the crew from a property in Greenacre at about 8.30pm (AEST) on 20 July.
The chopper crew alerted Bankstown Police.
AAP reports a search warrant was executed at the address and a man was arrested.
He was later charged with doing an act to threaten the safety of an aircraft and people and will appear before Bankstown Local Court on 21 August.
