Bali's chief prosecutor says he plans to transfer two Australian drug smugglers out of their Bali prison tonight or tomorrow in preparation for their executions.

Momock Bambang Samiarso is responsible for transferring Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran to an island prison off Java to face a firing squad.

The two Bali Nine members were due to be taken to the island last month before the move was postponed to allow the prisoners more time with their families.

Mr Momock said he had an order to transfer them this week, and planned to do so in the next day or so.
