Two men have been charged with bringing firearms into the MCG during a packed AFL match between Carlton and Collingwood.
In a major security breach, Victoria police said the men bypassed security and were able to gain access to the ground for the clash in front of more than 82,000 fans.
Security at the MCG called officers following reports two men had refused to leave the venue after bad behaviour about 8.30pm on Thursday.
Police searched the two men aged 27 and 21 and allegedly found two firearms, one of which was loaded. No one was hurt during the incident.
Both men have been charged with firearms offences, including for possessing a loaded firearm.
The pair were remanded in custody to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Friday.
