The men's 100m sprint final will be remembered as one of the best ever at the Paris Olympics, ending in a dramatic photo finish.

Noah Lyles of the United States dipped across the line to claim the gold medal ahead of Jamaican Kishane Thompson.

Lyles' time was 9.784 seconds, five-one-thousandths of a second ahead of Thompson on 9.789 seconds.

American Fred Kerley was third.
