Three teenagers have been arrested following last week's robbery of a liquor store in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn.

Two were 14, the other 19, police said on Thursday.

The robbery took place just after 6pm last Friday at a Liquorland on Great North Rd.

Police carried out five search warrants across Auckland this week, turning up "a number of items of interest".

Detective senior sergeant Geoff Baber said the arrested trio had all been charged with aggravated robbery and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

They will appear before the Auckland District and Auckland Youth Courts.

There has been a spike of youth-led robberies in Auckland in 2022.

"Operation Rhino continues to investigate offending like burglaries and robberies being committed at retail premises across the Auckland City District," Baber said.

"I would like to acknowledge the ongoing work by our investigation staff in holding these offenders to account, along with the wider support provided by other policing staff in these matters."

Further arrests and charges were still possible, he said.
