A large red generator stolen from a home in Auckland's Mt Wellington has been recovered.
The 140kVA generator was taken in the early hours of 5 March, and seen being towed by a 4WD in the Penrose area during the day.
Police said it was possibly heading in a northerly direction, but on Wednesday afternoon it was located, still in Mt Wellington.

"It's not something you see every day being towed on our roads," police said in their appeal for sightings.
The generator was now back with its own, and police said they were still making enquiries as to who took it.
