Whatu Ngarongaro He Tangata, Toitū He Whenua is an adaption from a novel about the extinction of the New Zealand huia, developed during the Masters of Creative Writing at the University of Auckland. The events surrounding the huia’s extinction are a catalogue of missed opportunities and lessons learnt only in hindsight.
