About RNZ Commissioning

Whether it’s factual or entertainment content, the RNZ Commissioning Team aim to uncover, support and work with the most promising external producers, creatives and networks to strengthen and progress public service programming in Aotearoa.
•    We are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and at least half of our commissions will be Māori content (defined using partnership, participation and protection).
•    In addition to this we prioritise programmes (in whatever digital format best suits the content) for ‘underserved audiences’ which RNZ research has identified as Pasifika; Pan-Asian; rangatahi; POC; tamariki and regional Aotearoa.
•    We’re also suckers for a relevant educational NZ history or natural world documentary.
