A Handful of Stars part 1

From Inside Out, 5:01 pm on 12 April 2025
Located a mere 7800 light-years from Earth, NGC 6397 is what's termed a globular cluster. It's an ancient grouping of stars, some of which are almost as old as the Universe itself. They are cosmic fossils that tell us about the history of galaxies such as our own Milky Way.

Nick checks out some of the many jazz tunes written with stars in mind, including 'Star Eyes', played by Art Pepper; Ella Fitzgerald's 'Stairway to the Stars'; and Christian McBride with 'Stars Fell on Alabama'.
