Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra - Colours of Russia
The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra's concert season for 2020 blasts off with seven minutes of simple, uncomplicated fun, courtesy of Shostakovich’s helter-skelter overture. Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu joins them for the ever-popular Piano Concerto No 1 by Tchaikovsky.
Ace orchestrator Maurice Ravel's rendering of Modest Mussorgsky's piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition rounds out the concert.
The orchestra's Music Director Giordano Bellincampi conducts.
