Wakatipu Music Festival: Anna Leese, Jonathan Cohen & Stephen De Pledge

8.00 Wakatipu Music Festival: Anna Leese, Jonathan Cohen & Stephen De Pledge

Due to Covid-19, the Michael Hill International Violin Competition had to be put on hold in 2021. Keen to put on a significant music event in Queenstown, the competition organisers decided to establish the Wakatipu Music Festival as a showcase for New Zealand's new generation of professional musicians.

But there were also concerts by some of the country's established artists. This concert at the Queenstown Memorial Hall features soprano Anna Leese, clarinetist Jonathan Cohen, and pianist Stephen De Pledge.

This concert features music for soprano, clarinet and piano and is a journey through the seasons. It starts with the famous song 'Summertime' and ends in spring with Schubert's 'The Shepherd On The Rock', which is set in springtime.

The musicians lead you through the programme from the stage.
