This National Youth Orchestra concert culminates in Benjamin Britten’s famous exploration of orchestral colour: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. And leading us there are three works by living composers, one is quickly becoming standard repertoire for orchestras and was composed by the conductor, James MacMillan….and two are world premières by the NYO’s Composers in Residence: Celeste Oram and Reuben Jelleyman.
