An amuse-bouche to open NZTrio's 'Twine' concert.
Performed by NZTrio: Amalia Hall (violin), Ashley Brown (cello), and Somi Kim (piano).
In 1985, Glass wrote the soundtrack score for Paul Schrader’s film Mishima, A Life in Four Chapters.
Much of the music was written for string quartet and Glass pulled together six sections to create his String Quartet No 3, subtitled Mishima.
And then he arranged the last of those for piano trio.
Recorded by RNZ Concert in the Loft at Q Theatre
