Played by Red Priest at their Chamber Music New Zealand concert, Auckland Concert Chamber, 19 March 2019
Vivaldi (after whom Red Priest is named - that was his nickname) wrote more than five hundred concertos.
We may immediately think of The Four Seasons, but apart from those, his Concerto in B minor for four violins remains one of his best known. It was admired by none other than JS Bach, who arranged it into a concerto for four harpsichords.
Red Priest play their version for their forces of recorder, violin, cello, and harpsichord.
