This is the first of a new video sequence from the NZSO - Shed Series.
Unwind at the end of a busy week with Shed Series – Heritage, taking you on a musical journey across the globe.
Shed Series – Heritage is a great way to unwind at the end of a busy week. Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy as the NZSO presents a concert that takes us across the globe. We journey through Brazil, Scotland, India and New Zealand with music that reflects the diverse backgrounds of the musicians of your NZSO.
Opening with two movements from Jack Body’s Rainforest, Leonard Sakofsky then performs his arrangement of the Brazilian choro 'Tico-Tico no fubá'. Nicholas Hancox performs New Zealand composer Salina Fisher’s 'Reflect', before we head to the Scottish Highlands for Wolfstone’s 'Jen’s Tune' with flautist Kirstin Eade and guest Brendan Eade on bagpipes. Leonard Sakofsky returns to perform Malavika Gopal’s arrangement of Shakti’s 'La Danse du Bonheur' before we end with the world première of Rosie Langabeer’s 'drawing fire from the well'.
