Polly Sussex and friends have put together a programme of music and readings to mark the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley publishing her novel Frankenstein under her own name.
Written when Mary Shelley was 18, the book was first published anonymously. A few years later it was republished, using her own name as the author.
Along with readings from the book, the concerts (performed in Auckland and Christchurch) include music by some of the forgotten women composers of the nineteenth century.
