Ann Peebles might have struggled with the rain against her window, but if you're on the inside of a building there can be something comforting about the sweet memories the sound conjures up.
For this week's ambient Moment of Calm, RNZ Concert host Bryan Crump left his recording device running on the windowsill during a recent northerly blow.
We reckon it's a reassuring sound, as long as you're on one side of the window and the rain the other.
So if life's left you a little high and dry, why not sample a bit of the sound yourself?
