This week's moment of sonic calm came out of an early morning alarm call.
Having got up in the pre-dawn light to get cracking on a few chores, RNZ Concert host Bryan Crump noticed a beautiful morning unfolding outside, and it was sounding just as good.
So he let his recording device run for a few minutes on the deck to capture the local birdsong, the odd distant car, the white noise of the city below, and the sound of George the Cat asking to be let in.
The last thing you hear after the door closes behind George is the the some kaka screetching overhead.
