The National Theatre of Scotland is returning to New Zealand for Auckland Arts Festival, performing The James Plays. The trilogy of plays by the contemporary Scottish playwright Rona Munro follow the tumultuous lives of James I, James II and James III, who rules Scotland in the fifteenth century.
The James Plays mark Laurie Sansom's debut as the director of the National Theatre of Scotland.
NTS has only been going for 10 years, but the company has already had international success with their production of Black Watch, which also showed at the New Zealand Festival.
