Ten New Zealand Aria Competition finalists performed to a full house in Rotorua with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Johannes Fritzsch. Baritone Jarvis Dams, who was a Lexus Song Quest Semi Finalist in 2016 secured the top prize performing Franks Aria from Edgar by Puccini, and claimed a $20,000 prize package from the Dame Malvina Major Foundation.
