The Nelson School of Music is gearing up for its reopening next year with the appointment of a new director. The School Trust Board has appointed Auckland Grammar HOD Music James Donaldson who will take up the position in mid-January with the restored iconic building due to open in April. James grew up in Christchurch, studied cello there and in Manchester where he gained a Master of Music degree. He also has experience in choral conducting and music technology.
